Band Spotlight: Avon Junkies

Coming this fall at the New York museum of Television and Film… SKA music videos!! A bit odd maybe, unless you know Staten Island’s favorite Alternative/Ska sextet Avon Junkies. The band recently released a second music video off of their LP ‘The Merchant’s Tale‘  The video for the track ‘Bulls**t’, which was produced by local online collective Dog and Pony Show, and Directed by Nick Caccese was selected to be featured in a Film Festival and screened at the museum.

And so it goes in the career of a band that has been playing the tri-state area since 1999 (according to their wikipedia page), the junkies have played everywhere from Staten Island’s Jewish Community Center’s gymnasium to Manhattan’s big city lights.

The video featuring two brand new junkies Matt Chiapperino (who also plays in local act Burnt Youth) and Anthony Napoletano, is a throwback to the noir classics of the 1920’s and is embedded in this post below!
