WhereYouEat.com = Savings AND Utility for Staten Island
You’ve probably seen him prowling around the island in a Honda Civic wrapped with a WhereYouEat.com sticker. His name is Alex Dushkin and he’s hunting for the next big eatery to open it’s doors. Launched in late 2006, WhereYouEat.com’s mission has been to solve the age old riddle “What’s for dinner?”
Compiling a searchable database of ~600 restaurants, Mr. Dushkin is providing a serious resource for those Staten Islanders who either consistently dine out at the same old places; or wrestle with take out menus whenever they decide to order food. Features of the website include not only Menus, Photos, User Reviews and Critic Reviews, but also more importantly SAVINGS!

As we continue to collectively pull ourselves up from one of the worst recessions in American history, 100 different meal options with coupon savings is a pretty big deal. One example is Casa Nova Italian Restaurant, who are offering $10 worth of savings (off of a meal $35 or more) AND 10% off your order at WYE. Similarly Francesca’s Steak House is offering a $10 gift certificate AND a free glass of wine. There aren’t too many pleasures in this world as satisfying as free wine.. am i right?
Aside from providing information about island-wide eateries and coupon savings. WYE also provides an interesting blog called “Restaurant Scoop” which features dining reviews and insights. A recent blog post highlighted a trip to Indian Clove, an Indian style restaurant on clove road. The review is pretty comprehensive and even includes a full gallery of the foods mentioned. As if that wasn’t enough, Alex is providing yet another service to Staten Island in the form of a Facebook Fan page spotlighting the island and it’s residents. That’s some pretty hardcore dedication if you ask me.

So if you eat, check, and you like to save money WhereYouEat is a valuable and time saving tool that you should be utilizing regularly. In closing, we’ll let you read what Alex and his WYE team have to say on the site’s About Us page. “WhereYouEat Media works daily to better serve the community. We try to make your life easier by offering a convenient way to Restaurant Menus, Photos and Information. No longer do you have to guess what’s available, you can see what is at your fingertips.
